Bush TR82C

First made in May 1959, these radios retailed for £17 8s 11d + Tax.
It has seven transistors and covers medium wave and long wave. The TR82B is identical, except it has a brass finish.
I got this radio from eBay. It was very cheap, as it was faulty.
My radio just made a hissing sound and refused to tune any stations, some checks showed that TR1 was not oscillating, so it was removed to be tested. Everything measured fine and the components associated with TR1 all also seemed OK. When TR1 was re-installed everything worked. However, after a week it stopped working again and would only co-operate when TR1 was replaced

Rear view. All quite neat looking, made like a valve radio of the time, no circuit boards, resistors and capacitors below the chassis.
